LOCATION/ENVIRONMENT & TRANSPORTATION
Campus location: in or near a major city (pop. 300,000 or more)
The college's two campuses, one in San Francisco and one in Oakland, afford a wealth of resources. Graduate students are primarily based on the San Francisco campus. It situates itself in the Potrero Hill neighborhood, between the design district and the UCSF Mission Bay Biomedical Research campus.

The Graduate Center on the San Francisco campus is filled with natural light and provides individual working spaces for graduate students, seminar rooms, and a courtyard meeting/installation area.

The San Francisco campus also houses the following:

* architecture and design studios
* a writers' studio
* computer labs
* PLAySPACE, the graduate student gallery
* Simpson Library
* New Materials Resource Center

Graduate students have access to Oakland campus studios, including facilities for ceramics, glass, jewelry/metal arts, media arts (film/video), painting/drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and textiles.

Getting here:
Easy accessibility to both campuses can be found via Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains and local city buses.

San Francisco and Oakland International Airports are served by the BART trains and bring students and visitors within close proximity to either campus via the local city bus lines. Cal Train serves San Francisco only and is accessible by the local bus line.

Additionally, shuttle between the two campus are available to students during the week.
